0 - Operate at nominal PWM modulation frequency only. The nominal frequency limits power consumption, but results in acoustic noise.
1 - Automatic control of PWM modulation frequency. Operate at maximum frequency, outside the audible range, when allowable, to eliminate acoustic noise.
